Foreign students can study in Bulgarian or English, according to the curriculum for the relevant major.
What is the duration? When does the course start and end?
The language preparatory course lasts one academic year /two semesters/. It starts in October and ends in June.
What does the program include?
The program is in accordance with the REGULATION ON THE STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO THE HIGHER SCHOOLS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA PMS No. 79 of 09.05.2000. It includes 1000 hours - 650 hours of basic course and 350 hours of specialized courses / chemistry, biology, etc. depending on the specialty/
How is the end-of-course assessment done?
The training ends with a written and oral exam, which is taken before a committee. /On the basic course of 650 hours/ The specialized training ends with examinations in all the academic disciplines provided for in the curriculum, which are taken before a committee. /Disciplines studied in 350 hours/
Does the course as a whole prepare applicants for what the university can offer them and for life in our country, regardless of their nationality or academic background, etc.?
The aim of the course is to provide the foreign students with a sufficiently high level of Bulgarian language training in advance for their studies in the Bulgarian language. In addition, it provides an opportunity for quick adaptation and coping with daily activities.
Are there plans to develop other courses for the next academic year (2025/2026)?
