TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ON-LINE ENTRY TESTS
GUIDELINES FOR THE EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examinations shall be conducted under the following conditions:
- The online examinations shall be recorded for archival and reference purposes via the BigBlueButton platform.
- Each applicant must position their webcam in such a way as to display their surroundings, and must maintain an active video and audio connection, enable remote screen sharing and messaging, and ensure a functioning microphone, headphones, and stable internet connection.
- The invigilators shall verify the identity of the applicants using their passports.
- Applicants shall not engage in any actions that compromise the integrity or confidentiality of the examinations. Such actions include, but are not limited to:

- Recording any part of the examinations for reference or other purposes;
- Providing or receiving assistance during the examinations;
- Accessing the internet for any purpose other than taking the examination;
- Communicating with third parties in the room, by telephone, mobile phone, email, or any other online channel;
- Providing false identity information or having another person take the examination on behalf of the applicant.
- The content of all online examinations is confidential and remains the property of Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov”. Applicants are prohibited from sharing, publishing, or reproducing any part of the examination in any form, whether written, oral, or electronic.
- Any applicant wishing to appeal against the examination result may do so in writing to Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov” within seven (7) calendar days of the announcement of the results. The appeal shall be submitted online to the following email address:
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . - In the event of suspicious results or conduct, Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov” reserves the right to temporarily disqualify the applicant.
- In the event of suspicion that an applicant is attempting to engage in irregular conduct, the applicant shall be asked to stop the examination process, and the examination shall be deemed invalid and the result annulled. The circumstances shall be recorded in an invigilator’s report.
- Applicants shall submit their answers to the examination questions by clicking the “Submit” button.
- Immediately after the completion of the examination, the Chair of the Online Admissions, Data Processing, and Online Examination Committee shall send a file containing the applicants’ names, the start and end times of their participation in the examination, and the answers to the Chair of the Examination Committee for the respective subject.
- Based on this information, the Chairs of the Examination Committees shall prepare examination reports containing the results of the examination participants.
- The examination results shall be published on the University website under the respective system number of each applicant.
A copy of this Order shall be served to the Head of the Academic Information Office (AIO) and to the members of the Commission for Conducting the Written Examination, as well as to the Examination Assessment Committee, for information and implementation.
I hereby assign the control over the implementation of this Order to the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning Process (TLP).
When our accounting department receives your payment, a profile will be created in the exam system. Instructions for this will be sent to your email when you log into the grading system. In this system you can solve mock tests and appear for exams.
English Diagnostic Test
This test is designed to evaluate the level of competence in English language of candidates who are not in possession of an official English Language Certificate. The level required to study at university is minimum B1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference.
The test duration is 60 min and it consists of two main elements: Reading Comprehension Tasks and Use of English Tasks. Each correct answer is granted 1 point and the maximum number of points is 50. Incorrect answers are not penalized. To pass the test successfully, candidates need to score a minimum of 25 points, which is 50% of the total scores.
- Reading Comprehension (Questions 1 -10) consists of two tasks, where candidates are required to answer five questions, multiple choice or True / False ones. Texts are designed to test candidates’ ability to apply their English language knowledge in reading and understanding general texts, as well as their ability to extract relevant information from the text – facts and opinions, either stated directly or hinted by the context, understand nuances of words and word combinations, and draw conclusions.
- Use of English consists of two multiple choice tasks focusing on grammar and vocabulary, respectively.
- Lexical Task (Questions 11 -30) contains twenty gapped sentences for which there are four choices suggested – A, B, C or D. Each correct answer is granted 1 point. This task is designed to assess candidates’ command of English lexical units, such as collocations, set phrases, and word combinations.
- Grammar Task (Questions 31 -50)contains twenty gapped sentences and four answers suggested for each gap – A, B, C or D. Each correct answer is granted 1 point. The aim of the task is to assess candidates’ command of English grammatical or sentence structures. This might include verb tenses, passive and reporting structures, as well as sentence word order.
It is recommended that you test your account and password on the day before the dates of the exams.
On the day of the examinations, you should log in no earlier than 30 minutes before the beginning of the exam and follow the steps:
- follow the link to the video-conferencing channel, where an invigilator will be waiting to check your ID/Passport;
- follow the link to the e-tests system and enter username and password given via e-mail;
- select course for the relevant date;
- select test for the appropriate hour.

The semester tuition fee for students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme is:
- EUR 3,200 per year for full-time studies;
- EUR 3,000 per year for part-time studies.
